In the same vein, its corners are made from TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), part of which is bio-sourced. This elastomeric thermoplastic was an obvious choice in our more sustainable and responsible design approach. Indeed, behind its light, sleek lines, the sturdiness of STELLAR-X5 remains intact. In keeping with the tradition of Crosscall smartphones, the increased resistance to shocks and drops is studied right from the design stage, thanks to the precise choice and assembly of carefully selected materials: rigid aluminum frame, glass-fibre reinforced polycarbonate structure and reinforced corners.
The STELLAR-X5 had to undergo a series of particularly demanding tests before proving itself to be more enduring. Our teams not only tested its resistance to falls from a height of 1.50 m, the average height at which it slips from your hands, but also subjected it to 500 drops from a height of 1 m. They also tested the rigidity of the frame against a pressure equivalent to 50 kg.
To limit the risk of screen breakage, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus2 was chosen as the most solid protective glass on the market. With its IK05 resistance rating, this tempered glass can withstand a 250 g weight dropped from a height of 28 cm. Positioned slightly back from the edges of the smartphone, this glass is not subject to stress when dropped on flat surfaces, and can therefore reserve its full resistance to impacts with direct contact.
This resistance also applies in environments with contrasting temperatures: whether you're a professional working in a cold room or a hiker in direct sunlight, there's no reason to stop using your STELLAR-X5 in these conditions, as it remains functional even in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +65°C, while retaining its autonomy.
