Explorer and adventurer Mike Horn was born in Johannesburg in 1966 (52 years old) and is a legend in the outdoor world. During his life he has carried out scores of expeditions which have made him a pioneer and reference figure in the area of adventure. His first large expedition took place in 1997 when after more than 600km of walking he climbed Mt. Mismi in Peru to find the source of the Amazon River which he then descended on hydrospeed over more than 6700 km. Even today he is the only person to have accomplished this journey.
