An international award for CROSSCALL And his CORE-Z5

Each year, Critical Communication World (CCW) brings together end users of critical communication systems, manufacturers and suppliers for three days of inspiration, knowledge and connections. This essential event in the sector is organized by TCCA (The Critical Communication Association), whose mission is to develop and promote, globally, standardized solutions for critical communications.

This year, Crosscall, the French manufacturer, distinguished itself with His smartphone CORE-Z5, which won the prize for "Best McX Product of the Year". A reward that underlines the expertise of Crosscall In the design of MCX products, a new standard defined by the 3GPP, operating on LTE 4G and 5G networks, where X represents several critical missions (MC) services such as PTT (Push to Talk, that is to say voice), data, video and other services. THE CORE-Z5 is thus recognized at the highest level by professionals in the sector as a solution that meets their current and future needs.

Critical communication: a rapidly changing sector

The universe of critical communication is in full transformation. Until today, several technologies equivalent to 2G were mainly used in the public security sector: Tetra, Acropol, Tetrapol, P25 ... The latter allow to exchange on private mobile networks called PMR (Private Mobile Radio), independent mobile networks and distinct from mobile networks open to the public. These technologies are required to be replaced by New private networks operating on 4G and 5G networks. Thus, the old portable communication tools will gradually be replaced by more modern devices. The smartphone will thus become the appropriate tool for security forces, allowing them to access all new features, to gain operationality in the field and to be interoperable. Indeed, in addition to voice communications, they will now be able to share data, photos, videos or even a real -time location and simultaneously for several people.

However, compatibility to private networks and the pre -emption of access to the latter remain essential to make the smartphone an MCX tool. For this, smartphones must be compatible with certain specific frequency bands. Expertise that Crosscall has developed in recent years and which has enabled it to develop, in technological partnership with Qualcomm, THE CORE-Z5, The world's first smartphone compatible with the 68 band, a frequency band dedicated to public security in the majority of European countries. An innovation that allows the French manufacturer today to distinguish itself and receive an international award.

“We are very proud to receive this award. He rewards the work carried out for several years by our teams in charge of product development and software. It is a culmination for Crosscall and recognition at the highest level which ensures our expertise in the critical communication sector ”

Nicolas Zibell, CEO of Crosscall.

CROSSCALL, European specialist in critical communication

Crosscall has demonstrated its expertise in the critical communication sector by developing innovative products and solutions and providing professionals with solutions that meet their specific needs. The manufacturer also participates to develop this sector by working on international projects, like Broadway, a project that aims to define, develop and test new generation critical communication solutions for public security organizations on a European scale.

This is how Crosscall is one of the first manufacturers to work on the support of the EMBMS (Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services), which allows the dissemination of "point-to-multi-foster" content. Thanks to the latter, several terminals can receive information that the antenna sends to everyone instead of receiving this information separately.

The support of this functionality is complementary to that of Band 68. Indeed, this band has a width of 5 MHz, which, in the event of important events or crises, can be insufficient to support different video flows shared with several people.

So, tomorrow, the public security forces will be more connected. They will be equipped with dedicated smartphones and accessories allowing them to manage all of their missions wherever they are, more quickly while minimizing the risks in the field. A central dimension for securing populations and in particular securing major events in which Crosscall And its products are directly involved. During COP 27, which took place in Dubai at the end of 2023, Crosscall participated in Guarantee the smooth running and security of participants of this international event bringing together 196 states around the problem of climate change. The critical communication system set up, based on reliable and lasting terminals of Crosscall, facilitated the coordination of the units involved and the management of incidents during these important days. A Life -size experience that will be put for the benefit of the Ministry of the Interior in France during another major event, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the terminals Crosscall will support the police and gendarmes mobilized to guarantee festive and safe games to the public. This conventional radios replacement solution provides agents with better network quality and continuity of communications, and is based on a smartphone and the micro-drown X-COMM of Crosscall, adapted to their operational needs.
