WHO ARE WE ?

Crosscall, Creator of sustainable mobile telephony, offers waterproof, resistant mobiles and smartphones with great autonomy. The company was created in 2009 by Cyril Vidal to respond to specific uses and needs with which it was itself confronted and for which no specific equipment existed. The brand thus designs models perfectly suited to hostile and unpredictable environments encountered by athletes and professionals in the field (water, rain, wind, humidity, dust, shock ...); As well as a range of high -performance accessories. With more than 4.5 million units sold, a turnover of € 114 million and already benefiting from more than 20,000 points of sale, the French company, based in Aix-en-Provence, continues its evolution through the rise of its mobiles increasingly recognized for their quality and their originality in France and internationally. 

A brand born on a storm day

I always wanted Crosscall Or a collective adventure. I think that is what it was, what it is and what it will always be. I remember a storm day, now more than 12 years ago during one of my outings at sea. I find myself in a grain as sudden as it is violent and salt water ends up putting my mobile phone out of use. 

Individual boats, most often, do not have radio equipment then, when our mobile is HS, we find ourselves cut off from the world without any means to report his position or ask for help. The kind of agonizing situation that we would like to avoid. Lucky, I ended up returning to the land. On the shore and soaked, I have only one idea in mind: to design mobile phones adapted to the most aggressive environments, which meet needs and which are different from their sustainability. I don't know it yet but Crosscall just born!

A challenge

The current economic system is that entrepreneurship is not easy. The first times I have ventured to talk about my project to create a phone brand, some have smiled at the idea that I seriously think of challenging multinationals which already argued the monopoly. In addition, convincing telephony and users actors that having more sustainable and more resistant products represents a real difference on a daily basis, has not been done in a day. But from the will always arises a path. 

Over the years of women and men from various training and horizons have joined our project. Gradually, was formed around Crosscall An united team with skills capable of taking up the challenge. We started by creating our own industrial model and laying the foundations for an original technology. Steps in stages, years after year, we imposed ourselves as a credible alternative to large operators and distributors. 

Sustainability, our commitment

If this was not the case at our beginnings, in the current context to design more sustainable and more responsible products has become obvious and will probably be an obligation tomorrow. Times change and we can only rejoice. But let's not be mistaken, it necessarily goes through a new vision of telephony. 

It is a question of definitively rejecting a model based on technological escalation in order to favor the user needs of our users and to take into account all the stakeholders of our values ​​chain. This is not only what is based on our difference, but it is also what makes our commitment. 

Thinking otherwise made our success and resulted in dazzling growth. So much so that we had to move our headquarters four times in order to be able to welcome new employees. Since the marketing of our first terminals, we have sold more than 3 million today and we are located in 16 countries. Even if at the start the vocation of Crosscall was first to make sustainability to the general public accessible, we are also very proud to have been chosen by the SNCF, the police, the gendarmerie or even the hospitals to equip their staff in conditions of use that greatly experience the equipment. 

Crosscall Now has become an intermediate company (ETI) of almost 200 employees who has experienced several fundraising while ensuring that its capital remains 100% French and that its employees are involved. True to our DNA, we have recently decided to offer a 5 -year hardware guarantee on products from generation 5, a unique guarantee in telephony. In line with the new regulations that constitute manufacturers to display the level of repairability of their products, not only have our latest models have obtained the best marketing ratings, but we are committed to their components to remain available for 10 years. 

The future is preparing now and thanks to you

We have also developed in our headquarters in Aix-en-Provence, a prototyping laboratory which will in particular allow us to further improve the sustainability of our smartphones but also to progress in their eco-design. Finally, the next step we set for is to constitute in proximity a dedicated reconditioning sector which will give our products a second life. Even if social and environmental performance has now become a major issue, regardless of sectors of activity, Crosscall There remains one exception and one of the few companies on a human scale in the world landscape of telephony. Since that day of storm we have traveled from the way but much remains to be done.
