CHRISTOPHE LE BOULANGER
An outdoor sports enthusiast and firefighter, Christophe is very active in the trail-running world, and shares his passion on his blog Wondertrail.fr. On his return from the famous Marathon des Sables, a 250km self-sufficient food race in the heart of the Sahara, he gives us his feedback on his TREKKER-X3, which accompanied him throughout this intense experience.
HOW DID YOUR MARATHON DES SABLES GO?
"It went well. I suffered a little from the heat, with a few "hot spells". There are huge temperature variations, from 42°C during the day to 10°C at night. It wasn't easy to run in the sand, and morale was put to the test, but it was worth it, because the scenery was just amazing, the atmosphere was great, and I'm glad I was able to take part!"

HOW DID YOU USE YOUR TREKKER-X3 ON THE RACE?
"The phone followed me throughout the marathon and survived the sandstorms! It enabled me to receive text messages from the race organizers, who can send info along the route, and in case of help.
Every evening, I wrote about my MDS experience on the Wondertrail blog, using my phone as a 4G router. During the day, I took photos to illustrate my articles. Sometimes I retouched them with Lightroom and Photoshop. Before going to bed, I checked my e-mails and the many messages of encouragement, which gave me a little extra boost for the next day!
Geolocation is forbidden during the race, so I downloaded the background map on the View Ranger app to find my way around.
My reflex was to check the temperature and altimeter to monitor my progress with the X3-SENSORS sensors.
As we were self-sufficient, I took along a folding solar battery, which ensured 2 full charges of the phone. "

WHAT IS YOUR RACING SCHEDULE FOR THIS SEASON?
"I like the 'ultra' format, so I'd take part in several races: the Ultra Marin in Brittany, the Ultra Tour du Beaufortain, the UT4M, the UTAT in Morocco, the Hospitaliers and again a desert race in Tunisia with the Ultra Mirage."
