THE SMARTPHONE AT THE HEART OF CORPORATE DIGITALIZATION
Smartphones have played an essential role in the digitalization of many field professionals' missions. A veritable vacuum cleaner of uses, it enables them toaccomplish a multitude of tasks with a single device. Many sectors are already undergoing this digital transformation, and the logistics and transport sector is no exception. It has started its own technological revolution with the development of new identification and traceability solutions, directly associated with the smartphone.
Crosscall, which already equips numerous companies in the sector such as Lahaye Global Logistics, Mauffrey and GEFCO, is now ready to meet the challenges of this digital transformation. Thanks to smartphones and broadband networks, companies can now access a whole range of functions (company telephony, instant group communication, geolocation, etc.) with a single device, the smartphone. This represents a real paradigm shift in the business world, where it is generally necessary to purchase a dedicated, and often expensive, device for each use. This advantage is even more significant when it is based on the use of ultra-resistant terminals, more durable and functional in all environments, like those offered by Crosscall.
HIGH PERFORMANCE IN A MOBILE, FLEXIBLE TOOL
To offer a high-performance, easy-to-use identification solution, Crosscall has designed X-SCAN, an optical scanner module that attaches to the brand's smartphones in a single gesture, using X-LINKtechnology, a magnetic magnet located on the back of the phone. As a result, it can be used with just one hand, as ergonomically and intuitively as a smartphone, making it a rich, multi-functional business tool.
Weighing in at just 24 grams, the X-SCAN stands out from other scanning tools on the market thanks to its maneuverability and portability, ideal for professionals who are always on the move. Once attached to the smartphone, it adds no extra weight, allowing you to work smoothly and comfortably.
With a reading capacity of over 60 codes per second, the X-SCAN is more than calibrated for heavy-duty use. Damaged or poorly printed codes, common in logistics and identification, are no longer an obstacle: thanks to its high-performance read head and on-board processor, a single scan is enough to decipher even a damaged code.
The X-SCAN also supports numerous symbology libraries, guaranteeing efficient scanning of all types of 1D and 2D codes. Its extended range (up to 1 meter) and laser pointer enable accurate scanning, whether the user is stooped, standing at an angle or standing at an angle.
And thanks to its white assistance LED, the X-SCAN is as functional in the darkness of a warehouse as it is in full sunlight on a loading dock (i.e. operation at up to 100,000 lux). Finally, it can be made compatible with any business application dedicated to inventory management via an SDK (or system development kit), enabling professionals to keep their current software.
FOR THE MOST INTENSIVE USES
The robust design of the X-SCAN ensures a high level of resistance to drops, shocks and very low temperatures. Thanks to its IP62 certification, it is totally dustproof and rainproof. Its materials have been designed to guarantee long-lasting resistance: Crosscall engineers designed its fairing from robust polyamide, usually used in the automotive industry. So it stands up to the most intense use.
Finally, the X-SCAN stands out in everyday use thanks to its extremely low battery consumption : just 0.2% per hour on standby for a Crosscall CORE -X5 or CORE -Z5 smartphone. In the long term, its 5-year warranty is its greatest asset, securing this investment for the future.
DESIGNED AND ASSEMBLED IN FRANCE
X-SCAN is the first Crosscall product to be designed and assembled in France. To achieve this, the Crosscall teams relied on two French partners specialized in their field: WARE-ID, an expert in automatic identification in the logistics sector, and Cordon Electronics, an expert in the manufacture, repair and recycling of electronic products.
This new accessory thus materializes Crosscall's determination toinitiate its production process on Frenchterritory , with a view to the design of the first Franco-European 5G secure smartphone announced for 2024.
