LOST IN THE SWELL - PATALLUVIA

   - Apr. 9, 2020

We already introduced them to you on their trip to Gabon and Morocco. Today, the three Breton surfers Ronan, Ewen and Aurélien have taken us to Patagonia in search of "the perfect wave". Accompanied by their smartphones CROSSCALL, they spent a month exploring over a thousand kilometers of coastline aboard Maewan, a 10-meter-long steel monohull, captained by Erwan Le Lann and ocean racing specialist Eric Péron. Discover this extraordinary adventure in a 6-episode web series. Happy sailing!

ALREADY EQUIPPED WITH OUR PHONES DURING YOUR TRIP TO GABON AND MOROCCO, WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GO BACK WITH CROSSCALL PHONES?

We needed waterproof phones that would also withstand being dropped on the boat. The advantage of a CROSSCALL is that you can carry it in your pocket and take it out whenever you want, without worrying about it getting wet.

HOW DID YOU USE THEM DURING YOUR TRIP?

On top we had our satellite maps, essential for navigation. Thanks to the SAS4Android application, we could geolocate even without network coverage. We also used it to take photos and videos. In fact, we could see a clear difference with the previous models we've had (TREKKER-X2, TREKKER-S1 and theACTION-X3). The TREKKER-X4's wide-angle lens was really great for taking photos on the boat, as the place was pretty cramped. In the end, even without a network, our phones didn't lose their usefulness!
